Voila - completed Acolyte(?) Sith Mask from the Star Wars video game.
After 9 hours of sculpting, carving and painting this epic piece was completed.
It's handmade, like most of my stuff, and was hand sculpted using a custom plastic mask mold I made myself too. So, yeae, I can repeat this thing albeit slowly cause I'm doing this with my one hand here
Mask is made out of a material called Diamond Paperclay - a clay like substance thats actually a really, really good papermache. Use it wet and woohoo, happy sculpting.
The mask form was created out of Wonderflex - a user friendly plastic that heats up with a hair blow drier or a heat gun.The stuff is awesome and anyone who does costume work I highly recommend you look into it.
Try Cosplay.com to get the plastic stuff super reasonable and free shipping within Canada.
Mask is inspired by the Acolyte Sith Mask and is not an exact reproduction. Some of the key differences are:
~different silver tones/colors
~different filigree pattern(by a bit)
~side plates that frame the center mouth plate are raised instead of sunken as pictured in the game.
I own nothing of Star Wars. It's all George Lucas's.
Mask commissions for $230.00. Takes 2-3 weeks to complete.
